What is a honeymoon registry?
It's an excellent way for your wedding guests to help make your dream honeymoon a reality. By contributing monetarily, your guests will ensure that your honeymoon memories will last a lifetime and that their part in acheiving that dream is never forgotten. Honeymoon registries are an especially great option for couples that already have most of their traditional household items, but still need wedding gift ideas for friends and family. Many wedding guests feel that just sending a check does not show "thoughtfulness." Contributing to your honeymoon is so much more personal and gives the bride and groom something they really want. Who wants another toaster when your guests could be contributing toward a lifetime of honeymoon memories?
How does it work?
The first step is consulting with one of First Discount Travel's honeymoon specialists. They will assist you in finding the perfect honeymoon. Once you have decided, a minimal deposit (usually between $150-$250 per person) is required to secure the reservation. We would be happy to provide you with gift registry cards to enclose with shower and wedding invitations, or if you prefer, word of mouth among family and friends works well, too! Your wedding guests can call our office and charge their credit card over the phone, mail or drop off a check to our office, or visit our website and contribute online.
How will I know what contributions have been made?
First Discount Travel will email or mail a confirmation to your guests, making them feel secure in the fact that their contribution has been applied to your dream honeymoon. We will send the bride and groom an email after each contribution is made, allowing you to stay up to date on wedding gifts and get ahead of the game on thank you cards! In addition, we will send a monthly itemized statement showing the wedding guest's name as well as the dollar amount of the contribution.
How much does it cost?
It is free to register with First Discount Travel, however, there is a 3% convenience charge on all credit card payments received within 30 days of travel. Any overpayments received will be sent to you in the form of a check upon receipt.
